Strawberry Drinks
Three variations for early summer based on the strawberry:
Strawberry Smoothie
2 cups quartered strawberries
1 cup milk of choice (low-fat, skim, soy, rice, almond, coconut)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 Tablespoon Savannah Bee Company Orange Blossom Honey, or more to taste
8 ice cubes
Place the milk, vanilla and honey in a blender and mix well. Add the strawberries, pulse again. Add the ice cubes and blend until the ice is crushed well. Serve in a tall glass with a thick straw.
Makes approximately 4 cups, or 2 tall glasses.
Strawberry Lassi Smoothie
2 cups quartered strawberries
2 cups plain, non-sweetened yogurt
2 Tablespoon honey, or more to taste
Place the yogurt and honey in a blender and mix well. Add the strawberries and blend. Serve in a tall glass with a thick straw.
Makes approximately 4 cups, or 2 tall glasses.
Strawberry Frozen (Virgin) Daiquiri
2 cups quartered strawberries
2 Tablespoons sugar, or more to taste
2 Tablespoons lime juice
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
8 ice cubes
Place the lime juice, sugar, and water in a blender and mix well. Add the strawberries, pulse again. Add the ice cubes and blend until the ice is crushed well. Serve in a tall glass with a thick straw or long spoon, or in a sugar-rimmed daiquiri stem.
