Kitchen Window Amateur Grillmaster Competition
Do you think you have what it takes to be a champion backyard barbecuer? Then this is your chance to prove it to the world (or at least to your family and friends). Compete in Kitchen Window’s Amateur Grillmaster Competition and prove your worth as the best amateur barbecuer in the Twin Cities.
In this all-day event, Amateur Grillmasters are invited to battle it out in the heart of Minneapolis. Competitors must grill an appetizer, a side and an entrée of their choice. You must bring your own grill, cooking equipment, original recipes and ingredients. Our panel of judges will bring their appetites and their score cards.
Grill or smoke with your choice of fuel – charcoal and gas are welcome. Each Amateur Grillmaster is required to provide their own grill or smoker, as well as smoking woods, charcoal, prep table, utensils and all other equipment needed to prepare their menu.
All food must be prepared during the time of the competition. You may not bring ingredients that have par-cooked, marinated, rubbed, sauced or otherwise prepped ahead of time. Competitors will be given a 10x10 outdoor work space to prepare their food.
A Grand Prize package worth $250 (plus bragging rights) will be awarded to the best overall backyard barbecuer. Individual prizes of $100 will be awarded to the winners in each category – appetizer, side dish and entrée. Prizes will be presented on the day of the event.
